El Colegio de Ingenieros Industriales de Cataluña y el Institut Cerdà han organizado, la jornada 'La resiliencia de las infraestructuras. Hacer frente a situaciones de crisis y emergencias desde la previsión a la restauración de los servicios'. La jornada tuvo lugar en la sede de los Ingenieros Industriales de Cataluña, se expuso y se debatio sobre cómo gestionar una crisis en las infraestructuras energéticas y de las TIC para reforzar la resiliencia y la capacidad de recuperación de estos sectores.
Cataluña es un país altamente urbanizado con una elevada densidad de población e infraestructuras que se enfrenta, como el resto de países desarrollados, a amenazas y riesgos que pueden ser producidos por fenómenos naturales, desastres causados en las infraestructuras y conflictos sociales que pueden desencadenar una huelga general, sabotajes o el terrorismo internacional.
Esta jornada responde al objetivo de dar a conocer cómo trabajan las empresas y las administraciones para conseguir reducir la vulnerabilidad y aumentar la resiliencia de nuestro país en ámbitos de notable trascendencia como la energía y las telecomunicaciones. El conocimiento y la experiencia de los ponentes contribuyó a una mejor comprensión de la capacidad de respuesta y de actuación ante estos riesgos o amenazas episódicas.

During the month of February we have participated in the Master of Management of Risks and Emergency that organises the School of Industrial Technical Engineers and the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
The session treated the basic introduction to the civil protection, and the basic guidelines for the preparation of PAU (Plan of Autoprotection).

The Institut Cerdà has organised a course of training for directors and technicians of Tourism of the SEBRAE and of diverse cities of the State of Parana. Between the activities of the course there is the visit to diverse Catalan institutions, like the Big Teatre of the Liceu, the Futbol Club Barcelona, Active Barcelona, the Agència Catalan of Turisme i the Fira of Barcelona.

• 'Smart Urbs 21' is born of the initiative of the Institut Cerdà and Barcelona Digital and has the participation of the city councils of Barcelona, Sant Cugat, and the companies Natural Gas Fenosa, Cespa-Ferrovial, Sap, BBVA, Districenter, and Moventia.
• The document analyses, the international level, more than 370 initiatives of 64 cities and poses the best intelligent opportunities focused to improve the public management and the technological application to the services directed to the citizen.
• The study aims that the technology is not the main barrier for the deployment of a solution smart and that the main challenges are cultural and of model of exploitation. Likewise, it puts of relief that the citizen earns an indisputable leadership in the intelligent city.
The study 'Smart Urbe 21' collects the international analysis of more than 370 initiatives of 64 cities, to find the best opportunities smart headed to the services for the citizen.
The study has realised an analysis of solutions and experiences in intelligent cities to international level, identifying the diverse available solutions in the actuality, his deployment (pilot, neighbourhood, city or metropolitan zone) in the cities analysed and the level of implantation by means of the analysis of the international experiences and the information obtained of the main actors of the sector.
Of all the fields smart, the study centres especially in Smart Environment (services of collected of waste, road cleaning, parks and gardens and environment), Smart Energy (services of smart grid, intelligent buildings and illumination of public spaces) and Smart Transportation&Mobility (services of management of the traffic, distribution of commodities, parkings, mobility no motorised and public transport).
Also they have detected 15 new solutions and opportunities smart cities: 60% oriented to the citizen, 25% orientes to the private and public alliance participation, 30% optimises the provision of urban services and 25% creates new opportunities of business.
Other significant conclusions of the study have been that the technology is not the main barrier for the deployment of a solution smart and that the main challenges are cultural and of model of exploitation. Likewise, it puts of relief that the citizen earns an indisputable leadership in the intelligent city and supposes a new sensor of the city that thinks, shares and interactúa with the same.
Of the 370 experiences and projects smart city analysed, only 7% has a transversal approach and takes advantage of the opportunities that offers the crossing of data between different sectors. Regarding the fields of performance, has found that 73% of the municipalities studied have implemented an intelligent solution of collected of waste and that the experiences of Transport and Mobility are those that better take advantage of the different sources of data that offers the city (citizen, traffic, sensors, public transport, etc.).

 In the last meeting of the patronato has decided incorporate to Núria Marín, mayor of L'Hospitalet, to the patronato of the IC.
L'Hospitalet, 1963. With equivalent studies to the diplomatura in business sciences, from the 2008 she is mayor of L'Hospitalet. In the year 1985 she has work like civil servant and of the 1995 to the 1999 she did charge of the area of Inland revenue and of the Concejalía of Collblanc-The Torrassa. In the 1999 she was appointed first deputy mayor and she assumed the responsibility of the area of Economy and Inland revenue, in 2007, she has the first tinenta of mayor and manager of the area of Planning, Coordination and Economy.
She is deputy of the province to the Diputacion of Barcelona and vice-president of the Metropolitan area of Barcelona. She represents to the City council of l´Hospitalet in the Commission of New Technologies and Information Society of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) and she occupies a vicepresidencia of the Federation of Municipalities of Catalonia (FMC). She is member of the Council Rector of the Integral Sanitary Consortium. From January of 2011 she is chairs of the Spanish Forum for the Prevention and the Security. Also she is member title of the Committee of the Regions, of the European Union. She is married.

The Logistics Centre. Presentation of indicators 2012 |

From the Observatory of logistics (driven by the Department of territory and sustainability of the Generalitat of Catalonia and Cimalsa, and carried out by the Institut Cerdà), is held annually the document of the competitiveness indicators of the Catalan logistics system, which this year reaches its seventh edition. The main objective of competitiveness indicators is to monitor its evolution the most relevant data of the logistics system, and analitzar. The preparation of the document looks, on the basis of statistical data from the main sources of reference for the sector, give a practical and real vision of which are read main trends of the market of logistics and transport in Catalunya. The actual edition makes a special emphasis on the introduction of new indicators that bring in more measured document to the demand.

Barcelona, June 2012, at the last meeting of the Board of Trustees on June 5 have been appointed members of the Board of Trustees to Mercè Conesa and Jordi Miarnau.
Mercè Conesa Pagès1968.
Graduate in law (UAB) and master's degree in law and public management (UPF) and in leadership and innovation in public policy (ESADE). He is Mayor of Sant Cugat del Vallès and Vice-President of the Diputació de Barcelona. Between 1994 and 1999 he served as Professor of administrative law at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and, between 1994 and 1996, he was responsible for the legal service of the Catalan Association of municipalities. Year 1996 - and until 1999 was responsible for coordination of the Directorate General of Local administration of the Generalitat of Catalonia. He was Deputy Mayor of equality and social policies of the Ayunamiento de Sant Cugat between 1999 and 2003 and, subsequently, has been Deputy Mayor of territory (2003-2010).
Jordi Miarnau Montserrat
Barcelona 1961. Engineer of roads, canals and ports; Schedule of Directorate General (PDG) of IESE. Master in management of construction companies by the Augustine Foundation of Betancourt (Madrid). Until 2004, took charge of the GRUPO COMSA international rail business, leading a process of internationalization to place the company among the first railway builders groups in the world. In 2003, he assumed the presidence of GRUPO COMSA, and after the integration, in 2009, of GRUPO COMSA EMTE, became President of COMSA EMTE. He is President honorary of the European Federation of Railway Trackworks Contractors (EFRTC); Counsellor of the Asepeyo mutual; Patron of the Foundation Prince of Girona and the Foundation for Science, Health and Education (SHE); and member of the Board of the circle of entrepreneurs of Madrid, among others.

The Institut Cerdà has participated and joined the Repsol Foundation throughout the process of this first call and would like to congratulate 7 candidatures that have been selected for their projects.The areas of action of the winning candidates ranging from power generation to distribution and end use of yhe energy. Each project will receive technological, business and legal advice and financial support between 6,000 and 12,000 € per month.

Presentation of the socioeconòmics impacts of the ZÈFIR Test Station project |

The Institut Cerdà has developed, by the City Council of the Ametlla de Mar, an analysis of the socio-economic impacts of the project ZEFIR Test Station, driven by the Research Institute on energy of Catalonia (IREC). The ZEPHYR project is the creation of a plant of international research for marine wind turbines in deep water testing which will be located off the coast. The objective of the project is to increase the scientific and technological knowledge of wind energy to progressively reduce the costs of construction and development of marine wind farms. The project aims to create new business opportunities for companies in the sectors of energy and implement a center of international reference with ability to attract new investments in the industrial sector.

It is a meeting for some research groups, companies and technology centres beetwin France amd Cataluña, an initiative and organized by the Science Park and technology of the University of Girona and the TicSalut Foundation, with the collaboration of UBIFrance and the camera of French trade in Barcelona. A team of Institut Cerdà has traveled to Brazil, invited by SEBRAE, the Brazilian service of support for micro and small enterprises.
The Institut Cerdà participates in the plenary meeting of the "Conselho deliberative do SEBRAE Paraná". The meeting was held in Curitiba, capital of Paranà. In the course of the meeting, Josep Mª Oliveras, director of institutional relations presented the Institut Cerdà.
In the course of the trip was also signed a technical cooperation agreement between the city of Curitiba-PR-Brazil, Sebrae, Fecomércio and Institut Cerdà. The IC will provide technical support, with all his experience in urban solutions.

 Anton Costas (Vigo, 1972). Industrial Engineer and Ph.D. in Economics. He is Professor of Economic Policy and Director of the UB Master in Economics and Public Services Regulation Economic. His academic interest and publications focus on studying the role played by ideas, interests and institutions in public policy. In particular the processes of economic reforms, liberalization and regulation of private-public services. He has published a books and numerous articles and essays. He has chaired and been part of numerous committees of experts to advise governments and corporations on economic and public policy. He is Chairman of ENDESA in Catalonia and vice president of the Economic Circle.
Pere Macias (Olot, 1956). Civil Engineer's. He is member of Spanish parliament and president of the Foundation Circle of Infrastructure since September 2006. He has been professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Professor of Law at the School of Civil Engineers. He has worked in the Direction General of Urbanism of the Generalitat of Catalonia.  Study Ramon Folch and Institut Cerdà in their willingness to address one of the main challenges that companies have signed a collaboration agreement to jointly develop projects in the field of climate change.
The purpose of signing the agreement is the formalization of professional collaboration to expand common views with the aim of providing consultancy in the field of climate change. The partnership is part of showing the interest of both institutions to disclose those projects, studies or activities that are of interest to society.
This framework agreement is intended to lay the groundwork for cooperation between the two entities in those projects deemed of mutual interest and in fulfilling their respective goals. The agreement provides that the IC and the Circle of Infrastructure jointly organize meetings, discussions, and publications, as well as to participants: the dissemination of those projects and studies that are considered appropriate.

Roundtable for the monograph on the quality of life in big cities organizes the Perriódico de Catalunya, which was held at the headquarters of the IC.
Ecopolis The Journal publishes a periodical series of special pages that rpetende EcoUrbanism think about the new world reality characterized by the existence of scenarios of high population density and make debate strategies generated in the sustainability of cities and replant existing patterns of living, consumption and use of resources. The monograph is a document of release to public service that aims to be a showcase of indicators, trends and good practice as well as a useful communication platform for institutions and professionals of social and environmental serctor.

As part of Barcelona Meeting Point presented the results in the presence of Minister of Environment and Housing of the Generalitat, Francesc Baltasar. Among the results is that the barometer of confidence in the housing sector sketches for the first time, the market recovery.
A general level, confidence in the sector growth increases and most of the agents observed a recovery. For the first time, boxes and banks improve the perception of clients' financial capacity.

The two parties want to collaborate in conducting and publishing a report on the sustainability of the metropolitan areas of Spain, to produce original and give special emphasis on those aspects of sustainability least exploited, so that your inquiry is useful in policy stance publicly and privately.
The study will examine the status and progress of the various factors and delivery of sustainability in aggregate for all metropolitan areas, depending on their location, urban type, its social characteristics, and level of economic development among others.
